ACADEMY TEACHERS

Hello, my name is Mrs. Kim
I am the middle & high school facilitator and all around “go-to” person for the Rock Academy. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with an emphasis in computer science, from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. I LOVE ALL THINGS MATH – Spreadsheets are my FAVORITE!!
I have been married to my “high-school sweetheart” for nearly 20 years and we have 3 amazing daughters that I have homeschooled from a young age, as well as been an active member of my church and community.
I am so excited about the upcoming school year! I love working with students and catching all of those “ah-ha” moments. My goals for the year are to work closely with each of our families to create an environment that encourages learning in each of our students and to continue to make The Rock Academy the best it can be. We are a team – Facilitator-Parent-Student! I know we are going to have a great time this school year and cannot wait to spend the next year learning and growing with you, and your kiddos, as a Rock Family!
Hello, my name is Ms. Misha
I will be teaching the elementary grades for the 2022-2023 school year. I graduated from TCU with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Reading Specialization. I also have four minors: English, Speech Pathology, Social Work and Psychology. I am certified to teach Elementary Education through the eighth grade. This will be my twenty-ninth year of teaching.
I am passionate about guiding children to understanding and growth in all areas of development. Encouraging a curiosity for learning in a positive environment will be a daily expectation. I want your children to love coming to school and to really enjoy being part of a learning community. We will be using manipulatives, educational stories and games as enrichment to the Abeka curriculum. These experiences create understanding by incorporating critical thinking skills which are a necessity in problem solving and real-world application. However, the best part is that it is fun and creates laughter while learning.
During my free time you can always find me trail walking or camping with friends and family. I also enjoy cooking, reading, music and playing with my pets. I am excited and looking forward to working together as partners in your child's journey next year!
