ACADEMY TEACHERS

Kim_Tabor.jpg
Hello, my name is Mrs. Kim.

I am the middle & high school facilitator and all around “go-to” person for the Rock Academy. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with an emphasis in computer science, from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. I LOVE ALL THINGS MATH – Spreadsheets are my FAVORITE!!

I have been married to my “high-school sweetheart” for nearly 20 years and we have 3 amazing daughters that I have homeschooled from a young age, as well as been an active member of my church and community.

I am so excited about the upcoming school year! I love working with students and catching all of those “ah-ha” moments. My goals for the year are to work closely with each of our families to create an environment that encourages learning in each of our students and to continue to make The Rock Academy the best it can be. We are a team – Facilitator-Parent-Student! I know we are going to have a great time this school year and cannot wait to spend the next year learning and growing with you, and your kiddos, as a Rock Family!

Hello, my name is Ms. Misha

I will be teaching the elementary grades for the 2022-2023 school year. I graduated from TCU with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Reading Specialization. I also have four minors: English, Speech Pathology, Social Work and Psychology. I am certified to teach Elementary Education through the eighth grade. This will be my twenty-ninth year of teaching.

I am passionate about guiding children to understanding and growth in all areas of development. Encouraging a curiosity for learning in a positive environment will be a daily expectation. I want your children to love coming to school and to really enjoy being part of a learning community. We will be using manipulatives, educational stories and games as enrichment to the Abeka curriculum. These experiences create understanding by incorporating critical thinking skills which are a necessity in problem solving and real-world application. However, the best part is that it is fun and creates laughter while learning.

During my free time you can always find me trail walking or camping with friends and family. I also enjoy cooking, reading, music and playing with my pets. I am excited and looking forward to working together as partners in your child's journey next year!

Hello, my name is Ms. Vickie!

I will be teaching Social Studies, Science and Health at The Rock Academy for 2022-2023 school year.

I graduated from the University of North Texas. I am certified in elementary education and I have a specialization in reading through eighth grade. I have been teaching for 31 years. I have taught middle school, intermediate school and elementary school. I have retired from teaching seven years ago but went back immediately part time in White Settlement ISD teaching gifted and talented students K through fourth grade.

My passion is teaching. I love my students and I love when I see the lightbulb go off in their minds. It brings me great joy to know that I have helped in some way to guide and encourage each child to do their very best. I love that The Rock is Christian-based because I put God first in my life.

I am a mom of two grown children with five grandchildren. I have been married for 47 years. In my free time I love spending time with my grandkids and spoiling them rotten. I love to read, cook, and travel. I can’t wait to start the new year and see what we can accomplish together.
