Competitive Gymnastics Teams - The Rock has numerous paths of “competition”. We work to partner with each family’s goals for their athlete. Some will want a low commitment experience with the sport where others will want a program with serious goals of achieving high levels of competition. Regardless of your desires to participate in a great sport – we have a path for you!

GIRLS GYMNASTICS TEAMS

Team Apex (Elite Program stream) - A USAG team that is pursuing participation in the Elite path and/or highly competitive JO program to obtain a college scholarship. This team is committed to more hours of training and has goals of fast tracking their gymnastics. “Apex” generally requires homeschooling or attendance of a school that is flexible with the hours of attendance. However, it is not impossible to put the time and work into accomplishing this level and attend public school. The Rock participates in the TOPS, HOPES and ELITE programs.

Team Brilliance (Junior Olympic Program stream) - Brilliance team members compete in USAG competitions. Members of this team will be required to “try out” for a position to compete on any level 2-10 USAG competition team. USAG competitions are extremely competitive and with Texas being the “toughest” state in the sport, athletes participating in these competitions must have the level they are attending mastered with perfection. The Rock strives to make sure every athlete is prepared to be competitive in the arena they are competing in. This program trains in the afternoon/evenings when school is released. The Rock always has athletes advancing to the championship meets for each level.

Team Champion (TAAF Program) - Athletes wishing to be members of the “Champion” Team levels 2-8 or Xcel (Bronze-Platinum) will compete in the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation. This program allows athletes to be in a competitive arena of their abilities when only coming to the minimum requirements of two days a week training. This program allows students to never commit to more than two days a week regardless of what level they are training. A good program for the athlete that is involved in multiple sports or want a minimal time commitment. All athletes in this program attend the State Championship meet.

Developmental (In House) - Periodically gymnasts will be selected from the recreational classes to train in a pre-team training group. This group meets two days a week for two hours (4 hours a week). Athletes training here only participate in competitions held at The Rock (traveling and full uniforms are not required).

Excel Team (USAG) - This program is growing leaps and bounds in the US. It gives an arena of competition for athletes that want to pursue higher level gymnastics without the hours of commitment that the Developmental program requires. This is a good fit for those that have acquired competitive skills and love the sport but cannot train as many hours of those in the Developmental program. This program is more laid back and yet still quite competitive.

BOYS GYMNASTICS TEAM

The boys team participates in the USA Gymnastics Competitions in area, state, regional and national meets. The boys have brought home numerous championship medals at every competition. They are currently under the leadership and coaching of Alden Revercomb a former level 10 gymnast.  Every training is a balance of fun and hard work to find balance in the sport. Each level requires different commitments of training hours to ensure the athletes are prepared for success. Participation on the team helps all of the boys see the benefits and rewards of their hard work.

Teams compete on double mini tramp, trampoline and rod floor. Unlike artistic gymnastics, athlete can compete at different levels on each apparatus. This allows the athlete to do their best difficulty on each event. The Rock participates in USA Gymnastics competitions. The teams compete in Invitationals to qualify for State, Regionals and Nationals. Rock athletes continue to impress with their championship medals! Those interested in competition can schedule an evaluation for placement. T&T offers competitions for all skill and age levels and is an excellent way for students to enjoy a positive competitive experience.
